Jett Lawrence has won the first moto of the AMA Pro Motocross round at Thunder Valley ahead of Lucas Coenen. The Belgian rider charged through the field from eighth place and delivered a very strong race. During the second half of the moto, he even closed the gap to Jett and Hunter Lawrence, eventually finishing second, just one second behind Jett.
Hunter Lawrence crashed in the closing stages of the race, allowing Coenen to move into second place.
Haiden Deegan was also battling at the front in the early stages, but two crashes forced him to settle for fourth place, one position ahead of Jorge Prado.
After the race Deegan heard that he got a seven position penalty because of course cutting. Due to this he dropped back from 4th to 11th position in the classification.
