Torre van Mechgelen fights his way back to ninth place in Valkenswaard

Torre van Mechgelen made a strong impression during the final round of the KNMV MX Nationals in Valkenswaard. The young Belgian Yamaha rider from the De Baets AIT Racing Team secured an impressive fourth place in the opening moto of the 125cc class. After a difficult start to the second moto, he fought his way back from 28th position to finish 17th. This earned Van Mechgelen ninth place in the overall standings for the day.

Van Mechgelen started the race day at the Eurocircuit with a strong performance in timed practice. He set the fourth-fastest time in his group, demonstrating that he had the speed to challenge at the front.

In the first moto, the young Belgian came out of the start around tenth position. From there, he began a strong charge through the field. With good lap times and several overtaking moves, the Yamaha rider continued to make progress. He eventually crossed the finish line in fourth place, narrowly missing out on a podium finish.

The second moto proved to be considerably more challenging. Following a difficult opening phase, Van Mechgelen had to begin his recovery ride from 28th position.

Despite the significant deficit, the De Baets AIT Racing Team rider refused to give up. He managed to make up several positions throughout the race, eventually working his way up to 17th place.

With finishes of fourth and 17th, Van Mechgelen secured ninth place in the overall 125cc standings for the day.

Although the second moto did not deliver the result he had hoped for, Van Mechgelen can look back on a race day in which he demonstrated both his speed and determination. His impressive fourth-place finish in the opening moto particularly highlighted his potential.

With ninth place overall, the young Belgian rider from the De Baets AIT Racing Team wrapped up the KNMV MX Nationals season in Valkenswaard.
