The FIM is proud to announce its new collaboration with the International Testing Agency (ITA), as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure integrity and fairness in motorcycle sport.
Faced with the constant evolution of anti-doping standards and regulations, the FIM recognises the importance of remaining at the forefront in maintaining trust and credibility towards anti-doping issues. By working together with the ITA, who is renowned for its expertise in implementing independent clean sport programs, the FIM continues its commitment to maintaining anti-doping standards, in line with the highest requirements for clean and true sport.
“We thank the FIM for their trust in delegating their testing program and other clean sport areas to the ITA,” says ITA Director General Benjamin Cohen. “My team and I are pleased to enhance the anti-doping program for motorcycling with our independent activities through this initial collaboration. In the year of the 120th anniversary of the FIM, we congratulate them on their history and capacity to continuously develop their sport, also when it comes to protecting their community from doping.”
Dr David Mc Manus, FIM Medical Commission Director added: “This collaboration will enable the FIM to benefit from additional resources, specialised advice and technical assistance from the ITA in the field of anti-doping issues. The ITA will organise, manage, conduct and handle In and Out-of-Competition Testing and Therapeutic Use Exemptions. Our respective teams are already working together to implement the transition. This collaboration with the International Testing Agency represents a significant step forward in our collective efforts to ensure that our sport remains clean, fair, true to its values and promotes the health and safety of our riders”.
