Gyan Doensen to Miss Home GP and Remainder of the Season After Injury in EMX250 Crash in Sweden

During the second moto of the EMX250 race in Sweden on Sunday, motocross talent Gyan Doensen was involved in a heavy crash. Shortly after the start, another rider jumped unpredictably from one side of a bump to the other. Gyan made contact and went down hard. In the chaos that followed, he was hit by multiple bikes.

Medical examinations have confirmed that Gyan sustained a fractured left ankle, which requires surgery. He also suffered stretched ligaments in his right shoulder.

“It really hurts to announce that I’ll have to miss my home GP and the rest of the season,” Gyan said. “But I’ll definitely be there to support my team from the sidelines.”

Gyan expressed his gratitude to Barry Forschelen and KNMV Motorsport for their swift assistance, and to his team Gabriel SS24 KTM and mechanic Jake Sheridan for their unwavering support.

The focus now shifts entirely to recovery, with eyes firmly set on a strong comeback in 2026.
