Lotte van Drunen, riding for the De Baets MX team, has claimed victory in the women’s race at the Zwarte Cross. In front of thousands of spectators, Van Drunen secured her fourth career win at the iconic event.
She started the day strong by securing pole position during time practice. Feeling confident on the bike, she carried that momentum into the races.
Lotte dominated both the first and second motos, crossing the finish line first each time and securing the overall win.
The rider from Sliedrecht will now shift her focus to preparing for the Grand Prix of Lommel, where she will compete in the MX2 class. The event is scheduled for the weekend of August 2–3!
Meanwhile, Tyla van de Poel competed in the ADAC Youngster Cup in Tensfeld. After qualifying 12th in his group on Saturday, Tyla faced a setback in the opening moto when he got caught in a crash at the start. However, he made an impressive comeback to finish in 16th place.
In the second moto, despite a poor start, he again made up ground and crossed the line in 17th.
In the third and final moto, Tyla crashed at the start but launched a strong charge through the field with fast lap times. Unfortunately, his progress was halted by a broken rear brake. Nevertheless, he pushed on to finish 20th, placing 19th overall in the day’s standings.
Tyla will continue his training over the coming weeks to be well-prepared for the international race at Keiheuvel in Mol on August 10!
