Colt Nichols will compete for the ROKiT Partzilla PRMX Yamaha Team in 2027. The American, who won the 250SX East title in 2021, is returning to the brand with which he achieved major success earlier in his career. Nichols will line up with his familiar number 45.
Over the past few months, Nichols has been in discussions with team owner Julien Perrier about a potential partnership. An agreement has now been reached, and the American has already completed his first test laps on the new Yamaha YZ450F.
“I’ve been talking with the team for a few months and working together with Julien. I’m happy that we’ve been able to reach an agreement and that I’m returning to Yamaha, the brand with which I’ve had a lot of success,” Nichols explains. “It feels good to be back on a Yamaha, and the new YZ450F already feels like home.”
Team owner Julien Perrier is also pleased to welcome the former 250SX East Champion. “We’re very happy to add a rider of Colt’s calibre to our team. We believe he will be an excellent fit within our organisation.”
Nichols has already started preparing for the new season. At the team’s training facility in Florida, he has completed several test sessions to familiarise himself with his new bike.
In 2027, Nichols will once again race with his familiar number 45, which has also earned him the nickname ‘Colt 45’ in the paddock.
