Nicolai Skovbjerg will step up to the FIM MX2 World Championship in 2027. The Dane has signed an agreement with the Beddini Racing Ducati MX2 Factory Team and will become Ferruccio Zanchi’s teammate aboard the new Ducati Desmo250 MX.
Skovbjerg moves into the MX2 class after a strong season in the EMX250 Championship. The 20-year-old Dane finished second in the final standings in 2026 and claimed three race victories throughout the season.
Skovbjerg particularly impressed on the sand tracks, taking victories in Sardinia, Belgium and during the Dutch round. After three seasons in the EMX250 class, he is now ready to take the next step in his career.
In 2027, Skovbjerg will make his MX2 World Championship debut aboard the Ducati Desmo250 MX. At the Beddini Racing Ducati MX2 Factory Team, he will form a duo with Italian rider Ferruccio Zanchi.
“I’m incredibly proud and excited to announce that I will race for Beddini Racing Factory Ducati in the MX2 World Championship in 2027,” said Skovbjerg. “It’s a huge step in my career and a dream come true. I’m really looking forward to starting this new chapter, working with the team and giving it everything I have. I can’t wait to get started. Let’s go!”
With the arrival of Skovbjerg, Ducati has completed its MX2 factory line-up for 2027. Ferruccio Zanchi and Nicolai Skovbjerg will embark on Ducati’s first full MX2 campaign with the Desmo250 MX.
