Ivo Monticelli Replaces Isak Gifting for Final Two MXGP Rounds

JK Yamaha Racing has adjusted its rider lineup for the final two Grands Prix of the MXGP season. Isak Gifting will not compete in China and Australia and is focusing fully on his recovery ahead of the Motocross of Nations. Ivo Monticelli will return to the team and take his place.

Gifting was already forced to miss last weekend’s MXGP of Turkey. The Swede has not yet fully recovered and, together with the team, has decided to also sit out the final two rounds of the World Championship.

His focus will now shift to the Motocross of Nations, where he is aiming to be fully fit.

For the races in China and Australia, JK Yamaha Racing has found an experienced replacement. Ivo Monticelli will compete for the team in the MXGP class at both Grands Prix. For the Italian, this marks a return to the JK Yamaha family.

The team will also line up with an additional rider in the MX2 class in China. Yang Jinyu will get the opportunity to compete in the MX2 World Championship at his home Grand Prix.

The first of the two remaining Grands Prix will take place in China next weekend. The World Championship will then head to Australia for the final round of the 2026 MXGP season.
