Brent Van doninck will not compete in this weekend’s MXGP of the Netherlands in Arnhem. The Fantic Factory MXGP rider has suffered four broken ribs in his crash during the start of the second race in Sweden.
Van doninck suffered a heavy crash at the start of the second race in Uddevalla on Sunday. A medical examination on Tuesday morning has now confirmed the full extent of the injury.
As a result of the four broken ribs, the Belgian is forced to miss the Dutch Grand Prix. Van doninck’s focus in the coming period will therefore be entirely on his recovery.
Fantic Factory MXGP can once again count on Jörgen-Matthias Talviku in Arnhem. The Estonian will step in as a replacement and will face a sandy track that suits him well.
It is a major setback for Van doninck, especially with the MXGP of the Netherlands just around the corner. At this stage, it is not yet known when he will be able to return behind the starting gate.
