Honda HRC PETRONAS rider Jeffrey Herlings extended his perfect streak to 11 race wins (including qualification), and four GP victories in a row after another unstoppable weekend in Uddevalla – home of the MXGP of Sweden. The #84 was fastest in every session, led every lap of the three races and took a maximum 60 points from the weekend to now lead the 2026 MXGP championship by 116 points.
After GP wins in the hard-pack of Great Britain and the Czech Republic, Herlings ended his 12-year wait for a victory in Sweden in emphatic style, not allowing any other rider a chance of stopping him, from almost the very first corner. After good starts in qualification and race one, a rare bad jump meant he was third coming round the first corner, but a couple of quick passes meant he was still in the lead by the time he crossed for the first lap. That was as close as anyone got to the Honda CRF450RW rider as he checked out to secure his ninth win of the season, which is his best effort since 2021, when he won his fifth world title. With a 116-point gap and just four rounds remaining, he knows the sixth title is close, but there is still work to be done and with a home GP up next, he’ll really want to put on a show for his passionate Dutch fans.
Joining him on the podium was teammate Tom Vialle, who rode excellently for his three-four results that saw him stand on the box for the second time in three rounds. His third overall here once again showed his starting skills and his hard-pack prowess, as he made it holeshot number seven in his debut campaign in the MXGP class. The good starts were backed-up by impressive riding in both motos as he now looks to be a consistent podium challenger for the remainder of the season.
Ruben Fernandez was just behind his teammates in all three races, going five-six-five for sixth overall, on a day when his riding probably deserved even more. The hard-pack terrain in Uddevalla is notoriously difficult to pass on, but Fernandez had to make a number of moves to score as highly as he did and keeps the momentum from the last few rounds going.
It wasn’t such a good day for Valerio Lata, who got caught up in a tough incident on the first lap in race one and to come back from dead last. He managed to make a lot of passes to get up to 11th, but that effort probably hindered his ability to push in race two, as he ended up eighth for 10th overall.
The team now have a few days to pack up and head to down to sandy Arnhem, in the Netherlands, where Jeffrey Herlings will hope to keep this streak of perfection going for another round, and move even closer to his sixth world title.

A good weekend with some tough racing. My starts didn’t allow me to challenge with the podium guys, but I feel like my riding was really good for the rest of the motos. I fought through the pack in race one and then in race two I made a couple of passes and hard to withstand a lot of pressure, so I’m happy with the riding. On another day I could easily have snuck onto the podium but the standard is really high right now and if I want to join those guys I need to start with them.

We did some changes after yesterday, and that really improved the way I could ride in both the races. The first race was a little bit frustrating because I just couldn’t pass the rider in second place, but still, third is a good result. Then in race two I got the holeshot, but ran a little wide and let some guys through. I had to pass some people and got back into fourth place which was good for the podium. I feel like I back to good fitness and on the bike as well, so I hope I can keep this going until the end of the championship.

I am very happy to win every session, every race and to just keep this momentum going at what was a difficult track. My starts definitely helped this weekend, being right up there on a track that isn’t easy to pass on. Even in the last moto, I was able to recover and get into the top three after a bad jump and I made a couple of quick passes to get into the lead. We’ve worked really hard this year and I think these results show that myself and the bike and the whole team are in a really good place.

The first race was almost over before it begun as I got caught up in an incident on the third corner. I was last when I remounted so had to try and come through the field as best I could. I got up to 11th which wasn’t too bad, but I obviously would have liked to have done better. I actually think my riding might have been better in this race than race two, as I ended up eighth. I just couldn’t get any momentum and that’s where I’m at. Hopefully I can do better in the sand of Arnhem next weekend.

Jeffrey continues to impress everyone with just how well he’s riding right now. Another perfect weekend, leading every session, every lap, everything. He’s won four GPs in a row and six out of the last seven. It is great to see how well he has adapted to the Honda CRF450RW and the whole team. It was also great to see Tom back on the podium, making it two podiums in the last three rounds and showing how much he’s improved after the injury. Ruben was a bit unfortunate to only get sixth overall, but his riding was excellent and showed he isn’t far from joining those two. Valerio also didn’t have the best of luck, but he’ll regroup in Arnhem, which will hopefully be a special GP for Jeffrey and the whole team.
