Kiara Fontanesi also claimed victory in the second WMX moto at Foxhill. The Italian grabbed the holeshot and was never challenged, leading every lap to secure another dominant win.
Daniela Guillen finished second behind Fontanesi, while Courtney Duncan completed the podium in third. Home favourite Lucy Barker received a huge ovation from the British crowd as she crossed the line in fourth.
Shana van der Vlist was the highest-placed Dutch rider in fifth, while Lotte van Drunen had to settle for seventh. Danee Gelissen finished ninth in the moto, and Suzy Tausch came home in 26th.
Belgium’s Amandine Verstappen finished eighth, while her compatriot Maxime Breugelmans narrowly missed out on the points in 22nd place.
With a perfect 1-1 score, Fontanesi secured the overall victory at Foxhill. Daniela Guillen and Courtney Duncan joined her on the podium. Thanks to her dominant performance, Fontanesi also takes over the lead in the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship.
