Torre van Mechgelen of De Baets AIT Racing wrapped up the Dutch Masters of Motocross season with a strong performance in the MX125 class. The Yamaha rider finished just one point shy of the championship podium, securing fourth place in the final standings.
Van Mechgelen made an excellent start to the day in Halle by setting the fifth-fastest lap in qualifying. However, the opening moto did not go according to plan. After crashing, he had to fight his way back through the field and eventually crossed the finish line in 14th place.
The Belgian showed his true potential in the second moto. Delivering a determined ride, he battled his way to eighth place and gave everything until the chequered flag.

Although he finished the championship just one point behind third place, Van Mechgelen remains confident and focused on the next challenge.
Torre van Mechgelen: “The championship is over. Qualifying started well with the fifth-fastest time, but after a crash in the first moto things didn’t go as planned and I finished 14th. In the second moto, I fought my way back to eighth place and gave everything until the finish. In the end, we missed third place in the championship by just one point. That’s hard to accept, but as they say, ‘Success isn’t built in a day. Neither are champions.’ We’ll come back stronger next week at Foxhill. A huge thank you to my team for all their hard work and support throughout the weekend.”
