TOP 10 in sight

The tenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship takes the world’s motocross elite to Agueda, Portugal, this weekend. Osička MX Team will once again rely on Julius Mikula, who sits just nine points shy of the top ten in the MX2 World Championship standings.

Mikula made a strong statement at the previous Grand Prix in Montevarchi, Italy. His fantastic start to the opening moto in particular showcased both his speed and determination to battle with the best riders in the world championship. Although he lost valuable points by missing the Latvian Grand Prix, he remains within striking distance of the top ten in the standings, and the Portuguese weekend will provide another opportunity to close the gap.

Agueda – one of the toughest tracks of the season

The Czech rider now faces one of the toughest tracks on the calendar. Agueda is known among riders for its significant elevation changes, deep ruts, and technical jump sections. The circuit, which is approximately 1,630 meters long, is made up mostly of sandy to soft red clay that changes constantly throughout the race weekend.

The good news is the weather forecast. After an extremely hot race weekend in Italy, conditions in Portugal should be much more comfortable. The forecast calls for temperatures of around 26°C in Agueda, which should provide ideal conditions for another battle for championship points.

Vaclav Janout will not line up in the European Championship class this time. Marcel Stauffer also remains sidelined as he continues his recovery from a scaphoid injury to his wrist.

Osička MX Team’s focus will therefore be on Julius Mikula throughout the Portuguese weekend as he continues his pursuit of a place in the MX2 World Championship top ten.
