Mikula and Janout to miss Kegums. Osička MX Team absent from MXGP of Latvia

The FIM Motocross World Championship heads to Kegums, Latvia, this weekend for round eight of the 2025 season. Known for its deep sand and demanding conditions, Kegums is one of the toughest tracks on the MXGP calendar. Osička MX Team, however, will not be represented at the event, with no riders competing in either MX2 or EMX250.

Julius Mikula suffered a heavy crash at the previous round in Germany, after which he was briefly unconscious. In accordance with safety protocols and following the decision of the FIM medical team, he has not been cleared to compete in the upcoming race.

It is a painful setback for both Mikula and the entire team. However, his health remains the top priority, and the Czech rider is currently expected to return at the next championship round, the MXGP of Italy in Montevarchi at the end of June.

Václav Janout, another Osička MX Team rider competing in the EMX250 European Championship, will also miss the Kegums round due to health issues. In his case as well, recovery and health take precedence over competing in the demanding Latvian event.

Kegums is known for its deep sand, which develops challenging ruts throughout the weekend and significantly increases the physical demands on riders. Osička MX Team will therefore be watching the races from the sidelines this time, with full focus on helping both riders return to action in top condition for the upcoming rounds of the season.
