The sixth round of the MXGP World Championship, held on the French track of Lacapelle Marival, concluded with a highly positive outcome for Team Honda Maddii ABF Italia. Racing in front of his home crowd, Maxime Grau claimed an excellent eighth place overall, sealing his first Top 10 of the year this season.
It was a top-tier weekend for the French rider, who demonstrated speed, consistency, and excellent race management from the very first sessions. Since Saturday’s practice, Grau effectively tackled the ruts and challenges of the French track, confirming his great feeling aboard his Honda.
Beyond the numerical result, what makes the technical staff particularly enthusiastic is the approach and maturity shown on track. Maxime managed every phase of the weekend and individual motos with composure, showing significant and clear signs of mental growth. This psychological solidness is arguably the most positive and encouraging takeaway from the entire weekend.

With an overall eighth-place finish secured and growing confidence in his capabilities, the team is already looking ahead to the next challenge. The MXGP paddock will now head to Germany, to a track that has historically been a favorite for Maxime Grau. The objective for the next round will be to maintain this great momentum, keeping the same focus and mental approach.
Marco Maddii, Team Manager: “It was a super weekend, where we secured our first overall Top 10 of the year. Maxime had an excellent weekend: from Saturday onwards, he approached and managed every session incredibly well. We are extremely satisfied with how he handled both the weekend and the individual races; we saw a beautiful sign of mental growth, and for us, that is perhaps the most positive note of all. Now we move on to Germany, one of his favorite tracks. The goal is to have another positive weekend, but above all, to succeed in maintaining this same mental approach. We would particularly like to extend a special thank you to Honda and Gariboldi for their fundamental support.”
