Karlis Alberts Reisulis Claims Podium Finish in Oldebroek

Karlis Alberts Reisulis of Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing MX2 secured a podium finish on Saturday during the second round of the Dutch Masters of Motocross in Oldebroek.

Reisulis participated in the Oldebroek event to maintain his race rhythm, and with the track located close to the team’s home base, it was an ideal opportunity to compete. He was the only team rider on the starting grid, as Rick Elzinga is still recovering from a finger injury and Thibault Benistant took a weekend off for rest.

Due to the large number of riders, qualifying was split into two groups. Karlis set the third-fastest time in his group, earning him a favorable gate pick for the races.

In the first moto, Reisulis got off to a good start, running around fifth place, but a mistake caused him to drop back to tenth. He began working his way forward and broke into the top five during the second half of the race. Unfortunately, he lost his rhythm with still a few laps to and lost two positions. He finally finished the race in seventh position.

A stronger start in the second moto saw him emerge from the first lap in fourth place. Early on, he moved up to second and found a solid rhythm. While he couldn’t close the gap to the race leader, he remained close and finished in second place. This strong performance secured him third overall in the day’s classification.

Next weekend, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing MX2 will head to Agueda, Portugal, for the seventh round of the MX2 World Championship.
