Positive news for the motocross track in Lommel

The provincial government of Limburg has decided to ease certain environmental conditions for the Urban Motocross Center in Lommel. For instance, no new noise measurement station will be installed, and more riders will be allowed per training session.

Many national and international competitions take place at the motocross track in Lommel. The organization submitted a request to the provincial government to adjust the environmental conditions. This has now been granted after the province conducted a public inquiry and a new noise study. As a result, no third noise measurement station will be set up in the forest and nature area to the south of the circuit, as was previously required. Additionally, the province has agreed to increase the number of riders allowed during training from 20 to 30. However, the maximum noise limit of 50 decibels in the surrounding residential areas remains in place. The motocross track will also still be required to monitor noise disturbance.
