It was a flawless weekend for Bertram Thorius, claiming pole position and going 1-1 at the Italian Junior Motocross Championship in Mantova, which allowed him to secure the runner-up spot in the final championship standings.
The third and final round of the Italian Junior MX Championship in Mantova was all about Bertram Thorius, as he dominated the weekend aboard the race-kitted Fantic XX 125. Having secured pole position in Saturday’s qualifying, the Fantic Factory Racing EMX rider went on to claim the holeshot award and win both races to take the top step of the podium.
In the standings, Thorius came close to the 125 title, having crossed the line in first place in five out of the six races. A DNF at the second round in Alghero following a start crash, as well as an unfortunate penalty for a yellow-flag infringement at the first round in Ponte a Egola, meant he eventually had to settle for second. Nevertheless, the 16-year-old from Denmark, a three-time podium finisher in this year’s EMX125 series, remains one of the most talented riders in the class and definitely one to watch going forward.

“It was a really good weekend, starting off with pole in Saturday’s qualifying, and obviously going 1-1 on Sunday. I had two good starts, with a holeshot in race 2, and just found a good flow. I had some good battles in race 1 and managed to pull a gap in race 2. So overall, I had a great day and a great feeling on the bike. Thank you to my team for the great job, especially my mechanic Théo, and to my family for all the help and support. We keep on working!”
