Ruben Fernandez will not compete in the final two rounds of the 2026 MXGP season. The Spaniard will miss the Grands Prix of China and Australia as a result of the heavy crash he suffered during the MXGP of Turkey.
Fernandez crashed heavily last weekend in Afyonkarahisar. The injuries sustained in the crash are significant enough that he will not recover in time for the two overseas rounds that will bring the World Championship to a close.
This brings the Spaniard’s MXGP season to an early end. China and Australia have now been removed from his schedule, and the coming period will be fully focused on his recovery.
His participation in the Motocross of Nations in Ernée has also become uncertain. Fernandez was due to represent Spain at the event, but it remains to be seen whether he will have recovered sufficiently in time.
