Lucas Coenen to Miss Final Two MXGP Rounds and Turns Focus to MXoN

Lucas Coenen will not compete in the final two Grands Prix of the 2026 MXGP season. The Belgian rider from Red Bull KTM De Carli Racing will use the coming weeks to get back to full fitness ahead of the Motocross of Nations.

Coenen announced the news himself on social media on Wednesday evening. As a result, he will miss the overseas rounds in China and Australia.

The Belgian has decided to give his body the necessary time and focus fully on his recovery. Coenen did not mention a specific injury or reason for his absence in his statement.

Lucas Coenen: “Hey everyone, I won’t be riding the last two Grands Prix. We’re working on getting back to 100% fitness for the Nations. Good luck to everyone there!”

Coenen’s full attention will now turn to the Motocross of Nations in Ernée. He has been selected to represent Belgium and will team up with Sacha Coenen and Liam Everts as they aim for a strong result.
