Ernée is preparing to host the MXoN
In less than two months, on October 3rd and 4th, the ‘Raymond Demy’ circuit will be ‘the place to be’ for the 2026 Motocross of Nations. The Motoclub has been working tirelessly for several months, putting the finishing touches to everything.
After hosting the MX of Nations in 2023 and a round of the MXGP World Championship in 2025, the club is preparing to welcome the elite of the sport once again for this 69th edition of the Motocross of Nations.

First run in 1947 at Duinrell in the Netherlands, five years before the first edition of the FIM individual 500cc championship, the Motocross of Nations is the oldest official MX competition in the world. And by hosting the MX of Nations for the eleventh time in its history, France equals Great Britain’s record, which between 1949 and 2024 hosted the motocross Olympics eleven times. For its part, organising the event for the fourth time following those of 2005, 2015, and 2023, Ernée becomes the second circuit in the world to have hosted the MXoN most often; only Namur, which hosted the event five times between 1951 and 2001, has welcomed the world’s best motocrossers more often, including the 2001 edition, which will remain forever in the hearts of the French as it was marked their first-ever victory in the event. It was an initial success which has led to more as the French team has subsequently added six more titles including the most recent one in 2023 … at Ernée!
A solid team
Since the beginning of the season, members of the club have been regularly traveling to World Championship events to promote the competition. They have also been present at regional events like the Boucles de la Mayenne, a major cycling race, and the staff of the club were at the Belgian Grand Prix last weekend where President Lecomte once again closely observed the organisation of that event.“We’re forever gaining even more good experience and you have to be willing to question yourself; attending events abroad is always very instructive. Of course, the pressure will be completely different for us in two months time in Ernée, where everything is falling into place on schedule. That said, we know from experience that things will speed up after the holidays and, even with a lot of experience, we know that unforeseen events will occur, so we must never let our guard down,” explained Philippe, who leads a veritable enterprise to organise these high-level events. “We are fortunate in Ernée to have exceptional enthusiasm from our volunteers, and 1,300 of them will be on site again this year! As for the public, we always try to offer them the best possible experience; we have created new platforms and find some more space for greater comfort. As was the case last year, we will prohibit access to the circuit with chainsaws, again for the comfort of the spectators; a few years ago there were only two or three, but nowadays there is an arms race, and this is causing safety problems. Since this announcement, we have seen an increase in ticket sales, proof that this decision is in line with what the public wants,” he continued.

First teams announcements
How many national teams will participate in the Motocross of Nations? We’ll have to wait until early September to find out, as registration closes a month before the event. In 2023, there were 37 teams competing in Ernée, the same number as last year in the United States, while the all-time record is 40 teams in 2013. So far, the Belgians have secured the holeshot, taking advantage of their home GP to confirm that Liam Everts, Sacha and Lucas Coenen (the same team as last year) will be representing their country. While the line-ups of the Australian, American, and Dutch teams are eagerly awaited, the fans also wait to know the French delegation, which will be aiming for a third consecutive victory at Ernée after their successes in 2015 and 2023. Present in Belgium last weekend, alongside Pascal Finot, National vice Technical Director at the FFM (French Motorcycling Federation), national coach Gautier Paulin met with riders and team managers. He will be present again at the next Dutch GP (August 22-23), a few days before the announcement of the French selection.

If you haven’t yet booked your ticket, you have a few days left, until August 15th, to take advantage of a special early-bird rate.
