Rumor: Coenen Brothers Could Line Up in AMA Pro Motocross

According to rumors from the United States, Lucas Coenen and Sacha Coenen could line up for the Thunder Valley National on June 13 in Lakewood next month.

The information was shared by well-known American journalist Steve Matthes, who reported that the Belgian twin brothers are expected to make an appearance at the American outdoor race.

Lucas Coenen is currently enjoying a strong season in the MXGP class and leads the world championship standings after five rounds. The Belgian has already secured two Grand Prix victories this season.

His brother, Sacha Coenen, is also competing at the front in the MX2 category. He currently sits second in the standings, just behind his Red Bull KTM Factory Racing teammate Simon Längenfelder.

Although only Thunder Valley has been mentioned for now, American sources suggest the brothers could potentially race several AMA Pro Motocross events. There is even speculation about up to four races later this season.

Last year, rumors also circulated that the Coenen brothers would compete in several American races, but those plans ultimately never materialized.

It is no secret that the Belgian talents are interested in a future in the United States. It has previously been indicated that Red Bull KTM Factory Racing could support them in making that move.

Their possible appearance at Thunder Valley could therefore be the first step toward a future full-time switch to the AMA championship.

For now, there has been no official confirmation from KTM or the riders themselves, but the rumor is already generating plenty of excitement within the motocross world.
