Former American supercrosser Kyle Partridge sustained serious injuries in an accident at Perris Raceway.
Partridge underwent emergency surgery to reduce swelling and bleeding caused by severe traumatic brain injury. In addition, the American suffered multiple spinal fractures, including a fracture of the C1 vertebra in his neck, as well as a collapsed lung.
He is currently being kept in a medically induced coma so doctors can closely monitor his brain activity and give his body time to recover.
Once the brain protocol allows, he will need to undergo several major surgeries. Partridge retired from professional racing in 2015.
