Benavides Wins Dakar Rally by Just Two Seconds over Brabec

Luciano Benavides has claimed overall victory at the 2026 Dakar Rally after a dramatic final stage. Entering the last stage, Benavides faced a deficit of more than three minutes to Ricky Brabec, but delivered a flawless performance when it mattered most.

Benavides finished second on the final stage behind Edgar Canet, gaining 3 minutes and 22 seconds on Brabec. This decisive effort allowed the Argentine to overtake the American in the overall standings and secure the Dakar Rally win by a razor-thin margin of just two seconds.

Tosha Schareina completed the final stage in third position, followed by Michael Docherty and Adrien Van Beveren. Schareina also finished third overall in the general classification, ahead of his teammates Skyler Howes and Daniel Sanders.

Jerome Martiny and Ian Olthof both successfully completed the rally, finishing in 22nd and 41st place overall respectively.
