Cas Valk tenth overall in Arnhem as Lynn gets injured

The Van Venrooy KTM squad travelled to their home round of the MXGP World Championship in Arnhem for the seventeenth stop of the series, arriving with plenty of motivation to perform in front of the Dutch fans.

In MX2, Cas Valk showed solid pace throughout the day despite having to come from behind in both motos. In the opening race, a bad start left him buried down in fifteenth position on the first lap, but the Dutchman rode strongly to work his way through the pack and eventually crossed the line in eleventh.

Race two proved even more difficult after a first turn crash, but once again Valk displayed determination as he charged from the back to another eleventh-place finish. His 11-11 scorecard was enough for tenth overall on the day, but the results didn’t quite reflect his speed, with Valk clearly showing the potential for a stronger outcome.

In the WMX category, Lynn also had to fight back from adversity in race one after going down at the start. She recovered well to climb into twelfth place, but unfortunately, her weekend was cut short after a heavy crash that resulted in a broken leg. Lynn has already undergone surgery and returned home to begin her recovery process, with her focus now on coming back stronger for the 2026 season.

The Van Venrooy KTM team wish Lynn a speedy recovery and will continue to push forward for positive results in the remaining rounds of the season.

Cas Valk (10th overall): Tenth overall in Arnhem… Things didn’t go completely to plan but my riding wasn’t too bad. The start crash for race two was a shame. We have three more to go so let’s have some fun.

Lynn Valk:  Coming into the weekend I felt really good, probably the most ready I’ve ever been fitness wise and bike wise. Together with my boyfriend we did everything together with the 2 of us and in this ‘summer break’ we worked hard. During free practice I felt good, timed practice even better and I could really ride how I wanted to.

Unfortunately, I crashed already with the start but I started to work my way up, and then after the waves before the jump it went wrong and I crashed hard… I was in a lot of pain straight away, I’m very happy I had surgery the same evening, it went really well and now it’s time to start a good recovery.

I want to say thank you to my Mum, Dad and Brother, for Cas it sure wasn’t easy to ride after seeing me like this, but I am very proud of him. My boyfriend for helping me to become better every day, my team, mechanics and all the people behind the scenes who are there for me.
