Jeffrey Herlings got a good start but was unable to make the turn in the first corner and ended up in the mud. He then lost control and had to start the race from the back of the field. Herlings fought his way back through the field, but could do no better than third.
Andrea Adamo finished fourth, ahead of Pauls Jonass!
