Jeffrey Herlings grabbed the full win at the MXGP of China, with the Dutchman being the fastest in all the practice sessions and winning the qualifying heat as well as both the first and second races. In the second race, Herlings went side by side with Tom Vialle through the first corner before taking the lead. Romain Febvre finished second; the Frenchman hunted Herlings in the final stages and stayed about 1.1 seconds behind the whole time until he made a mistake on the last lap. Third place went to Tom Vialle. Calvin Vlaanderen had a strong race and finished fourth ahead of Pauls Jonass.
The podium was Jeffrey Herlings (1-1), Romain Febvre (2-2) and Tom Vialle (3-3)
