Jed Beaton secured the 2026 Australian MX1 Championship during the seventh round of the Australian Motocross Championship in Conondale. The Yamaha rider wrapped up the title one round before the end of the season by finishing fourth overall with 3-3 moto scores. Overall victories on the day went to Aaron Tenti (MX1), Alex Larwood (MX2), Seth Morrow (MX3), and Lachlan Turner (WMX).
In the MX1 class, Aaron Tenti claimed the overall victory with a pair of second-place finishes. Kyle Webster finished second overall thanks to fourth and first-place results, while Nathan Crawford took third with a moto win and a fourth-place finish. Beaton crossed the line in third in both motos, which was enough to secure the national championship ahead of schedule. Ryan Alexanderson completed the top five.
Alex Larwood took the overall victory in the MX2 class. His 2-1 moto finishes were enough to hold off Dylan Walsh, who scored 3-2. Kayd Kingsford finished third overall after winning the opening moto but dropped back in the standings following a ninth-place finish in moto two. Ryder Kingsford and Byron Dennis rounded out the top five.
The MX3 class was dominated by Seth Morrow, who convincingly won both motos. Riley Burgess finished second overall, followed by Heath Fisher, Haydon Drapor, and Seth Thomas.
In the WMX class, Lachlan Turner was in a class of her own. She claimed two convincing moto victories to finish ahead of Charli Cannon and Taylah McCutcheon. Madi Simpson and Darci Whalley completed the top five.
The highlight of the day, however, was Jed Beaton’s championship triumph. After a remarkable season in which he had won every moto leading into this weekend, the Yamaha rider secured the title with one round still remaining. It capped off an outstanding championship campaign for both Beaton and the Monster Energy CDR Yamaha Team.
