Australian motocross rider Wilson Todd has announced that he is stepping away from professional racing for the time being. The four-time Australian MX2 Champion has made the difficult decision due to ongoing health issues that have had an increasing impact on his life over the past few years.
The 28-year-old has struggled with a long list of injuries since moving up to the MX1 class in 2024. Most recently, he suffered a liver injury after crashing in the opening corner during the ProMX round in Toowoomba. In addition to the physical setbacks, Todd has also been dealing with growing mental health challenges, leading him to take a step back from competition.
While he is not ruling out a return to racing in the future, Todd wants to focus first on fully recovering, both physically and mentally.
The Australian is regarded as one of the most successful MX2 riders of his generation. He won the Australian MX2 Championship in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023, and competed in the FIM MX2 World Championship with Dixon Racing Team in 2020 and 2021. After returning to Australia, he claimed two MX1 race victories with Honda Racing and finished third in the 2025 Australian MX1 Championship.
