Jeffrey Herlings also claimed victory in the second MXGP moto at Foxhill. The Dutchman narrowly held off reigning World Champion Romain Febvre to complete a perfect weekend. Tim Gajser finished third, while Ruben Fernandez and Andrea Adamo completed the top five.
MXGP World Championship leader Lucas Coenen showed great determination by lining up for the second moto despite his injuries. However, the Belgian was once again forced to retire before the finish.
The overall MXGP podium featured Jeffrey Herlings on the top step, ahead of Romain Febvre in second and Tim Gajser in third.
Despite failing to score in either moto, Lucas Coenen remains the leader of the MXGP World Championship. However, Herlings has closed the gap to just 11 points heading into the next round.
