Spectacular Dutch Masters of Motocross in Markelo delivers thrilling racing

The third round of the CAD2M Dutch Masters of Motocross in Markelo once again delivered exciting racing. Under excellent conditions, the fans in attendance were treated to top-level action across all four classes.

In the 500cc class, Kay de Wolf claimed his first Dutch Masters 500 victory. The Dutch rider, returning from a thumb injury, impressed by winning both motos. De Wolf certainly did not have it easy, as he was involved in a spectacular battle with Jeffrey Herlings and ultimately came out on top once again to secure the overall win. Herlings finished second overall with two second-place finishes, while Romain Febvre completed the podium with a 4-3 score. Glenn Coldenhoff finished fourth ahead of Calvin Vlaanderen.

In the highly competitive 250cc class, Liam Everts was the standout rider of the day. The Belgian won both the first and second motos to take a convincing overall victory. Janis Reisulis finished second overall with a 3-2 score, while his brother Karlis Reisulis secured third overall with 2-4 moto finishes. Kay Karssemakers took fourth place ahead of Dani Heitink. Karssemakers impressed in Markelo by leading for a long period during the second moto.

The 125cc class once again provided plenty of excitement. In the end, Dex Kooiker took the victory thanks to a second-place finish in the first moto and a win in the second moto. Timo Heuver won the opening moto but had to recover from far back after a crash at the start of the second moto. He managed to fight his way back into the leading group, but after another crash he eventually had to settle for third place, which was enough for second overall on the day. However, Heuver did reclaim the lead in the championship standings. Damian Wedage recovered from a poor start in the first moto to finish fourth, and then battled at the front in the second moto to finish second. This earned him third overall for the day.

In the 85cc class, Luca Nierychlo was dominant throughout the event. He convincingly won both motos to secure the overall victory and the championship title. Harry Dale finished second overall with two second-place finishes, while Kenzo Jaspers completed the podium with a 3-6 score.

The final and decisive round of the CAD2M Dutch Masters of Motocross will take place on Sunday, July 12, in Markelo.
