Sacha Coenen has won the first moto in the MX2 class, with the Belgian taking the holeshot and never relinquishing the lead.
Behind the KTM rider, Mathis Valin was flagged off in second place, with Guillem Farres finishing third. Liam Everts and Karlis Alberts Reisulis completed the top five.
Kay Karssemakers delivered a strong ride to finish ninth, one position ahead of reigning world champion and current points leader Simon Längenfelder.
Cas Valk finished 13th, while Scott Smulders unfortunately headed back to the paddock early. Jens Walvoort decided not to start today, as he is still suffering too much from the thumb injury he sustained last week at the MXGP of Sardinia.
It is currently dry again in Arco di Trento after a rain shower passed just before and during the first five minutes of the race. The forecasts remain very changeable, and the grey skies above the circuit do not look promising—we hope it stays dry for the rest of the day.
