Although Jeffrey Herlings managed to score a total of 54 points across the three races in Sardinia, there was still a sense of disappointment. He narrowly missed out on the overall victory by just over a second in the second moto. Even though it was only his fourth Grand Prix on the Honda CRF450RW, Herlings sets the bar very high for himself, and the two second-place finishes weighed heavily on him afterward.
Despite Trentino not being his favorite circuit, he knows that with his improved starts, he has a strong chance of fighting for the win again this weekend.
“Trentino is not my favorite track, but I know I have to go there and get the best possible result. Last week was a tough one, and even though it was my best points weekend, I know I need to win races if I want to take this championship. There’s still plenty of racing left, and I’m in a good position. I’m enjoying riding this Honda CRF450RW, so I see every round as a new challenge.”
