Ivano van Erp of the DCN Vos Oss KTM team crashed during the second moto of the Dutch MX Nationals in Oss on Sunday and sustained serious injuries. After a strong second-place finish in the first moto, van Erp suffered a torn aorta near the heart, as well as a broken collarbone, shoulder blade, and sternum in the crash.
Van Erp was transported to the hospital by trauma helicopter, where he underwent surgery. Late last night we received the news that the operation went well and that Ivano is stable.
