Hakon Osterhagen and Vencislav Toshev of AIT Racing both secured top-15 finishes during the EMX125 and EMX250 rounds held in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. Osterhagen finished 12th in the first moto of the EMX250 class, while Toshev also claimed a 14th place finish in one of his EMX125 motos, adding a 16th in the second race.
The feeling on track was good for Osterhagen during free and time practice, but he lacked the speed to set a top lap. Despite putting in a determined effort, he had to settle for 15th in qualifying. This meant he was safely into the races, although it left him with a wide gate pick.
In the first moto, his reaction out of the gate was slightly delayed, and he was clipped by a rider next to him, nearly crashing in the process. Osterhagen had to come through from around 30th place but did so impressively, working his way into the points and finishing in 12th.
In the second moto, he had a great start but was taken out in the second turn, causing him to crash. He launched a determined charge through the field but unfortunately went down again midway through. After this second fall, he struggled to find his rhythm and finished 24th.
Osterhagen ended the day 17th overall and now sits 26th in the EMX250 championship standings.
Vencislav Toshev delivered two strong motos during the fifth round of the EMX125 Championship. He started well in the first moto but made a few mistakes. He recovered and crossed the line in 14th. The second moto was very similar — another good start and solid riding. Despite a couple of mistakes, he managed to secure 16th.
With results of 14-16, Toshev finished 16th overall for the day and currently holds 17th place in the championship standings.
