Success and Setback for the De Baets MX Team in France

The De Baets MX team took part in the second round of the EMX125 Championship in Saint-Jean d’Angely, France. The team experienced both success and setbacks during the event. Tyla van de Poel crashed during the timed practice session, resulting in multiple fractures to his forearm. Tyla has since undergone surgery and will be out for several weeks. The good news is that Bertram Thorius managed to score his first points in the EMX125 Championship.

Bertram qualified fourteenth in his group for the race. A strong start in the first heat saw him riding in tenth position during the opening lap. Unfortunately, he was hit by another rider and crashed. Covered in mud, Bertram could only finish in twenty-eighth place in the first heat.

In the second heat, Bertram didn’t get off to the best start, and to make matters worse, his goggles broke in the second turn. Despite these challenges, he persevered and managed to finish in sixteenth position after a strong ride.

This performance earned Bertram his first points in the EMX125 Championship. The next round of the EMX125 Championship will take place on the weekend of April 5-6 in Riola Sardo, Sardinia.
