Cas Valk impresses at Saint Jean d’Angely with another sixth overall

Cas Valk continued to show his potential in the MX2 World Championship as he delivered another impressive performance at round three, held at the legendary Saint Jean d’Angely circuit in France. The Van Venrooy KTM rider demonstrated solid speed and race craft throughout the weekend, securing sixth overall for the third consecutive round.

In the opening moto, Valk faced a challenging start, finding himself in fourteenth position early on. However, the young Dutchman quickly found his rhythm and made crucial passes to charge his way up to eighth by the time the checkered flag fell.

The second moto saw Valk get off to a much stronger start, allowing him to mix it up with some of the best in the class. For more than half the race, he battled closely with reigning world champion Kay de Wolf, proving he has the pace to compete at the highest level. Eventually, he crossed the line in sixth, securing another strong overall result.

Valk’s performance in France highlights his rapid progress as he continues to establish himself as a top contender in the MX2 class. With each round, he gains more confidence and experience, and the signs are promising for the rest of the season.

Next up, Valk and the Van Venrooy KTM team will shift their focus to the opening round of the Dutch Masters in the sand before heading to Riola for round four of the MX2 World Championship.

Cas Valk (sixth overall): Another P6 overall (laughs). Another good weekend for me with good riding. First race, waited too long to pass some guys but got it done in the end of the moto. The second moto, after a good start, I was following the leaders for more than half of the race, so that was really good. Ending up in sixth was great again. This weekend, the first Dutch Masters, so let’s have some fun there!”
