After a good debut season in the MXGP World Championship, in which Andrea Bonacorsi finished tenth in the final standings, he will no longer be part of the Yamaha Factory MXGP team next year. Bonacorsi started this year for the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory team in the MX2 class, but after four races he switched to the MXGP class due to the many injuries within the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP team.
Jago Geerts and Maxime Renaux were both injured after the second race, leaving the team with only Calvin Vlaanderen. Bonacorsi was very welcome within the team and rode strongly as an MXGP rookie. He finished eighteenth times in the top ten, with a fifth place in Turkey as the highlight.
Because the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory team will continue next season with Maxime Renaux, Calvin Vlaanderen and Jago Geerts, there is no place for Bonacorsi in the team. Via social media, Bonacorsi thanks Yamaha for the good four years he has ridden for them. Where he will end up in 2025 has not yet been announced.
