Benoit Paturel of the De Baets MX team finished twelfth in the fifteenth round of the MXGP World Championship in Uddevalla, Sweden. Paturel managed to achieve this position in the first moto and finished in sixteenth place in the second moto.
The Uddevalla circuit was slippery and treacherous during practice on Saturday. This was because it had rained a lot on Friday and the circuit was drying up. Paturel the sixteenth time in time practice and eventually qualified fifteenth.
In the first moto, Paturel put in a strong performance by coming back from seventeenth place to close to the top ten. Just after the middle of the race, he took twelfth place and managed to hold on to this position until the finish.
Paturel also had a lot of work to do in the second moto as he only came out of the first lap in nineteenth place. During the race he managed to gain several places and finished sixteenth.
In the day’s classification, Paturel finished in fifteenth place and this is also his position in the world championship standings.
In addition to Paturel, Tyla van de Poel made his comeback in the EMX125 class. Van de Poel managed to qualify for the race and managed to cross the finish line in thirty-fifth place in the first moto. In the second moto he had to retire from the race prematurely but he is back on track!
This weekend the Dutch Grand Prix in Arnhem is on the program for the De Baets MX team.
