After overnight rain, riders at the ADAC MX Masters season finale in Holzgerlingen faced challenging conditions on the Schützenbühlring track. Roan van de Moosdijk (NL/Kosak Racing Team) crowned himself the new ADAC MX Masters Champion with two race wins on Sunday. Jordi Tixier (F/KMP-Honda-Racing powered by DVAG) once again made it onto the event podium with second place. Maximilian Spies (D/Becker Racing) ended the season strongly in third place. Max Nagl (D/Dörr Motorsport Triumph Racing powered by Krettek) finished fourth in Holzgerlingen and thus became vice-champion.

Van de Moosdijk triumphs as the only double winner of the season

By finishing second behind Tixier in Saturday’s race, van de Moosdijk took over the championship lead from Nagl with a one-point advantage going into the decisive two races. Nagl had finished fourth behind Marcel Stauffer (A/Osicka MX Team).

In the second race, van de Moosdijk laid the foundation for the title with a commanding start-to-finish win ahead of Spies and Tixier. Nagl only crossed the line in sixth and was later demoted to eighth for ignoring a yellow flag.

In the third race, Tixier claimed the Red Bull Holeshot, but van de Moosdijk took the lead already in the opening lap, ahead of Noah Ludwig (D/KTM Sarholz Racing Team) and Nagl. Around mid-race, Nagl moved past Ludwig into second place but was unable to close the gap to van de Moosdijk.

With his success in Holzgerlingen, van de Moosdijk became the only rider to win two events this season. The event victory not only secured him his first ADAC MX Masters title, but also marked the first championship in this class for the Kosak Racing Team.

“I can hardly believe it, but today everything just fell into place. I felt good, had great starts. This year I had some bad luck, like the start crash in Bielstein and the chain coming off, but the team and I never gave up and always believed in the title. Many thanks to the entire Kosak Racing Team for their trust in me. I am very happy,” said van de Moosdijk.

Tixier thankful for a successful comeback

With the Red Bull Holeshot, Tixier got his race weekend off to a strong start, claiming his first race win of the season. In the second race, he fought his way from eighth after the start up to third. In the third race, he again grabbed the Holeshot but dropped to tenth early on. From there, he worked his way back to sixth at the finish, which secured him second place in Holzgerlingen overall.

“I’m a little disappointed to have missed out on a possible event win, but overall I’m happy with the races since my comeback from injury in Bielstein. I didn’t expect to make it onto the podium so often. That wouldn’t have been possible without the support of my team and my family,” said Tixier.

Spies with three times third

After a collision in the fight for the lead in the first race, Spies dropped back to fifth. On Sunday, he rode from sixth at the start up to second within just a few laps in the second race. In the third race, an early crash relegated him to 13th, but after seven laps he was back up to fourth, where he finished. With third place at the event, he also secured third overall in the championship.

“I’m satisfied with my season, for the first time I was able to finish inside the top three of the championship. I achieved race wins and event wins and developed really well,” said Spies.
