Jago Geerts has provided a medical update following his crash in the second MXGP moto in Sweden. The Belgian currently has his left leg in a cast and will travel back to Belgium on Sunday evening for further examination.
Due to the swelling, doctors at the circuit were unable to determine with certainty whether there is a fracture or crack in the tibia or fibula. Geerts will therefore undergo another examination by his own doctor in Belgium on Monday.
“My left leg is in a cast. For now, my leg is swollen, which means the doctors at the circuit cannot rule out a fracture or crack in my tibia or fibula,” Geerts said.
More clarity on the severity of the injury is expected following the additional examination.
“I’ll only know that tomorrow when I see my doctor in Belgium for further examination. I’m flying back to Belgium tonight.”
