The eighth round of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship in Washougal saw Cole Davies take victory in the 250 class, while Hunter Lawrence claimed the overall win in the 450 class.
In the opening 250 moto, a massive pile-up unfolded in the first turn immediately after the start, taking down a large portion of the field. Championship leader Levi Kitchen was also caught up in the incident. Cole Davies capitalized on the chaos, took over the lead, and cruised to an uncontested victory. Ryder DiFrancesco finished second, followed by Chance Hymas, Daxton Bennick, and Carson Mumford.
Davies was once again the standout rider in the second moto. DiFrancesco grabbed the holeshot, but Davies charged through the field from fifth place and quickly took control of the race. From there, he managed the gap perfectly and secured his second moto win of the day. DiFrancesco again finished second, ahead of Hymas, Mumford, and Julien Beaumer.
With a perfect 1-1 score, Davies claimed a dominant overall victory and significantly reduced the points deficit to championship leader Levi Kitchen, who finished 6-6. The gap between the two now stands at just seven points. DiFrancesco finished second overall with two runner-up finishes, while Hymas completed the overall podium with a pair of third-place results.
In the 450 class, Haiden Deegan grabbed the holeshot in the opening moto but crashed early in the race. That allowed Jett Lawrence to take over the lead and win the moto ahead of his brother Hunter Lawrence and Jorge Prado. Deegan recovered impressively to finish fourth, while Dylan Ferrandis crossed the line in fifth.
Hunter Lawrence took the holeshot in the second moto and immediately came under heavy pressure from Jett Lawrence. Hunter successfully held off the challenge to take the moto victory. Jett crashed in the closing stages, costing him valuable time. Although he mounted a late charge to catch his brother, he was unable to make a successful pass. After the race, Jett was also penalized for re-entering the track in an unsafe and illegal manner following his crash. As a result, Haiden Deegan was promoted to second, while Jett was classified third. Jorge Prado and Dylan Ferrandis finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Thanks to his 2-1 finishes, Hunter Lawrence secured the overall victory. Jett Lawrence had to settle for second overall, while Haiden Deegan completed the podium in third.
