Luca Nierychlo Suffers Serious Injury at FIM Junior Motocross World Championship

Luca Nierychlo suffered a serious injury during the FIM Junior Motocross World Championship in Jinin, Czech Republic.

After an impressive qualifying day, Nierychlo’s weekend came to an abrupt end when he crashed heavily on the opening lap of the first moto. The accident left him with a serious back injury and a fracture in his left hand.

Fortunately, his condition is stable and he has full feeling in both legs. He was transported to a hospital in České Budějovice for further medical examinations and is expected to return to Germany in the coming days.

The injury is likely to bring an early end to what had been an outstanding season. Earlier this year, Nierychlo won the Dutch Masters 85cc title, currently sits third in the ADAC Junior Cup 85 standings, and recently dominated the qualifying races for the EMX85 Final in Loket, which will take place in just under three weeks.
