Chase Sexton’s Season Ends Due to Knee Injury

Chase Sexton has announced that his 2026 season has come to a premature end. Medical examinations following his crash last week revealed that the American rider suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), an injury that will require surgery.

The injury marks another major setback for the Monster Energy Kawasaki Factory Racing rider, who has already endured a difficult season.

“Last night, I got the news that I tore my ACL in last week’s crash and that surgery is necessary. After all the setbacks I’ve faced this year, this felt like a punch straight to the gut. I’m not going to lie—it hurts even writing this.”

Despite the disappointment, Sexton is trying to take a positive view of the situation. The American plans to use the coming months to spend time with family and friends, something that is often difficult during a normal racing season.

“With that being said, I’m going to look at this as an opportunity to do things I normally don’t get the chance to do during the summer. I’m going to enjoy spending time with my friends and family.”

Sexton emphasized that he is determined to come back stronger. The former AMA Supercross and Pro Motocross champion sees his rehabilitation as the beginning of a new chapter.

“As for racing, I’m also looking forward to this comeback story. This one is personal. I still have a lot to prove as a rider, and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got. 2027 is going to be fun.”

For now, Sexton is fully focused on his recovery. The exact date of his surgery has not yet been announced, but the American hopes to return to the starting gate fully fit in 2027.
