The former FIM World and AMA SX Champion Christophe Pourcel is confirmed to return to race at the biggest and widely regarded as the best MX event on the calendar, VMXdN, which is held this year at the historic Shropshire Hawkstone Park Grand Prix circuit.
CP377, as he is affectionately known, was the 2006 FIM World Champion and King of Bercy, the same year, which he then followed up with two back-to-back East Coast Supercross titles in 2009 and 2010, to cement his position as one of the most naturally talented French racers, a tough ask when you’re talked about in the same sentence as JMB.
Anyone who saw his smooth and flawless performance on a stock KX 250 at the 2025 event will be excited to see Pourcel in action at one of his favourite tracks in the UK, Hawkstone Park. Pourcel, who will be 38 when the gate drops on the August Bank Holiday weekend (August 27th -30th), is already practising on his two-stroke. He will race the same 2001 KX 250 he raced to three out of four victories in the highly competitive international team race in 2025, which will be supplied and run by Cristiano Bonacina, from Turin.
For 2026, he will be part of an all-new team; look out for news on this one!
There are just thirteen weeks to go before the gate drops on the 2026 event. Rider announcement news comes every week from here on in, and the anticipation for the most talked-about motocross race on the British MX calendar only increases. Spectator tickets are available online and will also be available at the gate, but anyone wishing to camp for the weekend is urged to secure a camping pass asap to avoid disappointment, as there are limited standard camping spots available. There are a handful of the new VIP slots still available. VIP camping is situated on the terraced area between the hill and the start gate with a view over the whole circuit.
The four-day event is packed full of action, including the annual Show’N’Shine display, autograph signing, trade village and beer tent. There is plenty to keep the whole family entertained before the gate drops on the racing action across Saturday and Sunday, where legends past and present from around the Globe will take to the line to go bar to bar just like the golden era of ’90s motocross.
