Tough break for Joey Savatgy and Quad Lock Honda here in Denver. During the first qualifying session, Savatgy attempted a long double but didn’t quite make it. He crashed hard, prompting a red flag, and was eventually taken off the track in the Alpinestars Medical Mule with his right arm in a sling.
After checking in with Quad Lock Honda team manager Martin Davalos, we learned that Savatgy sustained a wrist injury. At the moment, they believe there is at least one broken bone in his wrist, but he has been sent to a local hospital for further evaluation. In any case, he is out for tonight and most likely also next weekend in Salt Lake City.
Unfortunate for Joey, who had been performing very strongly this season.
