Tom Vialle won the first moto in Frauenfeld, with fellow Frenchman Maxime Renaux finishing second and Ruben Fernandez in third.
Tom Vialle took the holeshot on his Honda and then rode unchallenged to victory. Behind him, Lucas Coenen encountered mechanical problems when his chain came off. He was assisted by track marshals to refit the chain, which resulted in a disqualification when he rejoined the race.
Jeffrey Herlings started the moto in second place and was closing the gap to Vialle when he also suffered a chain issue and was forced to retire from the race. Remarkably, Andrea Adamo experienced the exact same problem at the very same spot as Coenen, Herlings, and Valin (MX2), coming to a halt with his chain off the bike.
