New Calendar Announced for the FIM Sand Races World Championship 2026–2027

The organizers of the FIM Sand Races World Championship have announced the calendar for the 2026–2027 season. The championship will consist of five rounds, one fewer than in previous seasons. With this adjustment, the organization aims to reduce logistical costs and make participation more attractive for teams and riders.

New Start in Morocco

The championship will begin with a brand-new event, the Morocco Sand Race. This opening round will take place on September 26–27 on the beach of Mazagan (El Jadida), located on the Atlantic coast about one hundred kilometers south of Casablanca. This adds a spectacular new location to the championship calendar.

Back to Well-Known Sand Classics

After the season opener in Morocco, the riders will head to Italy for the Bibione Sand Storm, which is part of the world championship for the third consecutive year. This event is scheduled for October 23–25 in Bibione.

The third round will take the championship to northern France, where the Ronde des Sables – Loon Plage near Dunkirk returns to the calendar. This popular sand race was last part of the championship in 2024 and will take place on November 7–8.

Algarve Returns to the Calendar

After France, the championship moves to southern Europe. In the Portuguese Algarve region, the Monte Gordo Sand Race will once again be held from November 27–29. This event has been a regular and popular round since the championship started in 2023.

Finale in Le Touquet

The battle for the world title will traditionally be decided at the legendary Enduropale du Touquet Pas-de-Calais in northern France. The 51st edition of this world-famous beach race will once again serve as the championship finale. The exact date for this event will be confirmed at a later stage.

With a new race in Morocco, the return of Loon Plage, and the established classics in Italy, Portugal, and France, the 2026–2027 FIM Sand Races World Championship promises to be another spectacular season for riders and fans of beach racing.
