Bronze for Glenn Coldenhoff and Fantic to wrap up an incredible MXGP season

It’s all true! Glenn Coldenhoff picked up his bronze medal at the MXGP season finale in Darwin, Australia, celebrating a hugely successful 2025 campaign for the Dutch rider, the Fantic Factory Racing MXGP team and the Italian brand in the premier class of Motocross.

The return of the FIM Motocross World Championship to Australia after no fewer than 24 years marked the end of a campaign to remember for the Fantic Factory Racing MXGP squad – highlighted by seven podiums and a historic first race win for the Italian brand in the premier class. To cap off a dream season, after 20 rounds across 17 countries and four continents, Glenn Coldenhoff takes home a superb bronze medal.

In his second season aboard the Fantic XXF 450, the 34-year-old Dutchman made his mark with lightning starts, impressive speed and consistent results, securing six podiums, seven holeshot awards and a total of twelve overall top-five finishes – underlining his outstanding form and consistency, and earning him third place in the 2025 MXGP World Championship, the pinnacle of Motocross.

A championship that came to a close in unexpected fashion, as a heavy downpour hit the spectacular Hidden Valley Raceway and led to the cancellation of the final MXGP race of the season. This change of schedule didn’t allow Andrea Bonacorsi, who finished 11th in race 1, to take the fight for P7 in the final championship standings all the way to the chequered flag. Still, the season of the 22-year-old Italian remains more than positive, with his first MXGP podium claimed earlier this year in Cozar, Spain, and an impressive eighth place in the championship in his first full season in the premier class.

Brian Bogers wrapped up the season in 13th place, both on the day and in the championship, tied on points with P12, after an Australian GP weekend that had started in a promising way for the Dutchman. Eighth and seventh in the two practice sessions, he was battling for the top 5 in the early stages of the qualifying race, but later slipped back due to a slight drop in pace, missing out on the top 10.

Once again, the leading Fantic rider was Glenn Coldenhoff, 11th in qualifying and eighth in the sole Sunday race – a solid result despite some health issues during the week, and with third place in the standings already secured in China.

While an unforgettable MXGP season comes to an end, there is more to look forward to. In two weeks’ time, Fantic Factory Racing MXGP stars Glenn Coldenhoff and Andrea Bonacorsi will line up at Ironman Raceway in the United States to represent The Netherlands and Team Italy at the highly anticipated 2025 Motocross of Nations.

Glenn Coldenhoff:
“It has been an incredible season, probably the best of my career. To finish third in the final standings and take the bronze medal – I would have signed for it straight away if someone had told me at the beginning! It was definitely my goal but also very ambitious, this class is stacked with champions. I know I am always there, I showed the consistency again this year, and to make it happen with six podiums and a race win makes me proud. I think we can be super proud of the whole Fantic Factory Racing MXGP team and everyone at Fantic, they have done an incredible job and stepped it up big time, and it paid off. I have had a lot of fun this year, and I won’t ever forget this one. With my family here as well, I couldn’t imagine a better way to celebrate after a tough couple of weeks. I crashed hard in Turkey, we had a very demanding race in China and afterwards I got a bit sick and was on antibiotics all week, so now I am looking forward to recovering a bit at home, and then we will try to finish the season strong at the MXoN.”

Andrea Bonacorsi:
“We have shown some good things and I am quite satisfied with eighth place in the championship. Of course, I could have fought for seventh in the last race, but safety had to come first. The race was cancelled and that was the right decision. We made a good step forward this year, so I want to thank the team, everyone at Fantic and all the people who support me and believe in me. And it is not over yet, we will give it our all at the Nations!”

Brian Bogers:
“Last round done – and it was a special one. I felt really good in the practice sessions on Saturday, but less so in the qualifying race and in race 1 on Sunday. The feeling on the bike was okay, physically I felt good too, I was just doing my laps but somehow, I didn’t manage to push more. The second race got cancelled, so the season is now over. We didn’t get the results we had hoped for, but we still had a good time and I want to thank the team and everyone at Fantic, it’s been a nice couple of years!”
