Glenn Coldenhoff and Fantic Shine on the Podium at the MXGP of Czech Republic

High five, Hoff! The Fantic Factory Racing MXGP star continues to impress in the 2025 FIM Motocross World Championship campaign, collecting his fifth podium of the season with third overall in Loket, Czech Republic, alongside a fifth holeshot aboard the Fantic XXF 450.

The hardpack track of Loket is a classic on the MXGP calendar, and by now, the changeable weather conditions have become a constant feature as well. But the most important pairing remains the one between rider and machine – and Glenn Coldenhoff is clearly feeling at home aboard his Fantic XXF 450.

The MXGP of Czech Republic kicked off with a muddy qualifying race on Saturday – and yet another rocket start by “The Hoff”, who led the opening laps of the qualifier. The Dutchman rode a solid race in the rain, crossing the line in fourth and securing a good gate pick, along with some valuable championship points. The same was true for teammate Andrea Bonacorsi, who made it a remarkable double top-6 result for the Fantic Factory Racing MXGP team, while Brian Bogers placed 13th.

As the sun came out and dried the track, conditions changed completely for race 1 on Sunday. What remains unchanged, however, is the importance of the start – and for once, the Fantic riders didn’t quite nail the perfect launch. Only Coldenhoff found himself in the top 10 off the gate, and with a quick pass, he moved straight into eighth place. Midway through the race, he began a determined charge, fighting for third in the closing stages and crossing the line with a strong fourth-place finish. Brian Bogers managed to climb up to tenth after a midpack start. Andrea Bonacorsi was less fortunate, as he was forced to retire due to a technical issue while running in 12th place.

Race 2 was off to a flying start, with Coldenhoff powering out of the gate aboard his Fantic XXF 450 to grab his fifth holeshot of the season. He led the opening laps before settling into second for much of the race. Maintaining a strong pace, he eventually dropped one more position, but third place was enough to secure another impressive overall podium – his fifth of the season. Bonacorsi bounced back with a solid ninth-place finish, while Bogers rounded out the top 10, which also earned him tenth overall.

In the championship standings, Coldenhoff remains in third place heading into the highly anticipated 15th round of the MXGP season in Lommel, Belgium, next weekend.

Glenn Coldenhoff:

“It feels good to finally get a podium in Loket! My first start wasn’t perfect, but I was able to pass some good riders and come back to fourth, which was good. I got the holeshot in race 2 and gave everything I had, but Romain [Febvre] and Lucas [Coenen] were a bit faster today. I am happy to be back on the podium, especially after getting so close in Finland. It is good to bounce back here on a hardpack track, and now we are all looking forward to next weekend. Lommel is a special place – I have had some podiums, but I have never won a GP there, which is definitely a goal. It will be a big fight, but we are ready to suffer and give it our all.”

Brian Bogers:

“All in all, it wasn’t a bad weekend, even though I wasn’t really feeling it – I struggled with the track and was at times kind of fighting it instead of riding it, but I still managed to finish tenth twice, which is a solid result. And now we are already looking forward to a very special GP – see you all in Lommel!”

Andrea Bonacorsi:

“Sixth in Saturday’s qualifying race was a solid start. Unfortunately, we lost quite some points in race 1. We came here aiming for more than a ninth in race 2, but that is how it goes sometimes. Now full focus on Lommel – it will be a big fight, but we have already shown some good potential in the sand this year, and I am definitely hungry for more.”
